Investing in Women Forum: Smart Economics | 17 June 2026

On 17 June, ANZCham attended the stakeholder session Evidence on Care Demands, Social Norms, and Women’s Economic Participation in the Philippines. Organized by Investing in Women with the support of the Australian Embassy in Manila, the event convened representatives from government, business, and the development sector to discuss evidence-based approaches to advancing women’s economic equality in the Philippines.

The session presented key findings from the Social Norms, Attitudes, and Practices Survey (SNAPS) and the Future Demand for Care (FDC) study, highlighting how gender norms and growing care demands continue to influence women’s participation in the workforce.

Through presentations and a multi-sectoral dialogue, participants explored the importance of stronger care systems, supportive workplace policies, and cross-sector collaboration in creating more inclusive opportunities for women and driving sustainable economic growth.
