Foreign Policy Forum with Minister Penny Wong | 23 July 2026

Shared opportunity is the foundation of stronger regional partnerships. On July 23, Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs the Hon. Penny Wong delivered a Foreign Policy Speech in a forum organized by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). ANZCham Board Members and Key Partners were among the invited guests, joining government, business, and diplomatic leaders.

A key message from her speech was that regional stability and economic prosperity are deeply connected. Building stronger economies across Southeast Asia means more than expanding trade and investment – it means developing partnerships that can respond to shared challenges to create opportunities.

Minister Wong also underscored the importance of women’s leadership in strengthening these partnerships, recognizing that inclusive participation is essential to building economies and institutions that are more representative, resilient, and equipped for the future.

For ANZCham, the forum reinforced our role in bridging strong Australia–Philippines relations with meaningful business engagement – creating inclusive pathways for companies to invest, collaborate, and contribute to the region’s growth.
