Establishment of the Australian Business Group (ABG)

The Australian – New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (Philippines) Inc. evolved out of the ABG, by the Australian Senior Trade Commissioner that time, Bill Brigstocke. This marked the foundation of a dynamic chamber dedicated to fostering international business relations.

Start of the full time Secretariat

In the inaugural year, the Board of Directors made a pivotal decision to establish a Full-Time Secretariat. This marked a significant step in enhancing services to members, disseminating information, providing central liaison for member contacts and questions, and improving overall chamber administration.

The Board of Directors crafted the ANZCHAM Mission statement, defining the organization's purpose: "To be a highly effective organization that visibly supports and promotes business relationships between Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines." The BPO & IT Services Committee is the driving force behind Australian, New Zealand, and Philippine stakeholders, including service providers, clients, and partners in the BPO, captive, shared services industry, and tech space. Focused on fostering dialogue among stakeholders, it advocates for issues relevant to the industry, supporting the development of the Philippines BPO & IT services sectors for Australia and New Zealand. The committee collaborates with government stakeholders, notably the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Board of Investments (BOI).
