ANZ Global Services and Operations (GSO), Manila was recently recognised as the Employer of the Year by the prestigious Apolinario Mabini Awards. This is the second recognition ANZ Manila received in 2015 after being named Best Global In-House Centre of the Year at the International ICT Awards early this year. The Apolinario Mabini Awards is given by the Republic of the Philippines and organised by the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled (PFRD) since 1974 to recognise organisations who have made significant contributions to the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) sector. The Employer of the Year category acknowledges employers who demonstrate leadership in removing workplace barriers for PWDs for them to achieve their full potential.
Speaking about the recognition, Mark Woolfrey, Managing Director of ANZ Manila, said: “ANZ is committed to ensuring our workplace welcomes, supports and celebrates the unique contributions of all our people. We provide a range of resources and programs to support staff with a disability, their line managers, and other staff who need disability resources. Being recognised in this category is another big milestone in the ANZ Manila journey. It is a great testament to our commitment to the Philippines and recognition of our achievements in promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace. It also means that ANZ is making an impact to the Philippine community in which we live, by helping persons with disabilities become productive members of society.”
